Circular Economy and the Finchimica Project

On June 3rd, the new Hydrochem Italia facilities in Pieve were officially inaugurated in the presence of authorities, unions, and workers. As part of the relaunch plan for the production unit, a “project within a project” was implemented, in which 7 of the overall 45 million euros of the industrial plan were invested. This involved Finchimica S.r.l., which decided to entrust Hydrochem Italia with the manufacture of certain chlorinated intermediates for its agrochemical productions.

Hydrochem Italia has thus gained an important client who will use the chlorine produced from the alkali production directly on-site, avoiding the movement of goods and creating a virtuous and modern project of energy circularity.

Finchimica will have access to a production carried out with renewable and green energy sources (hydroelectric power and heat generated by CO2-free hydrogen), thereby marking another significant environmental milestone in its long journey of sustainability and industrial responsibility. Finally, it adheres to a project of great value for the local economy, remaining true to its historic vocation for social commitment and for the communities in which it operates.
